A cyclist from Leeds was rushed to hospital after being hit by a car near a popular pub

A cyclist has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car near a popular pub in Leeds.

The incident took place on Mansion Lane, where the road meets the junction of Princes Avenue, near the Roundhay Fox, just before 10am this morning (Thursday, May 9).

The cyclist was taken to Leeds General Infirmary. West Yorkshire Police have cordoned off an area at the Mansion Lane junction.

An ambulance service spokesperson said: “Yorkshire Ambulance Service received an emergency call just before 10am on Thursday morning reporting a collision between a car and a cyclist on Princes Avenue, Roundhay, Leeds. An ambulance responded to the incident and one patient was transferred to Leeds General Infirmary.”

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services are currently attending a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a bicycle on Princes Avenue, Roundhay. The cyclist has been taken to hospital for treatment and inquiries at the scene remain ongoing. “
