Lucknow Super Giants Reportedly Owe Lucknow Police Rs 10 Crore For IPL Security

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), a franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), reportedly failed to pay the Lucknow police for the security provided during the recent IPL matches held in the city. According to reports, the LSG franchise owes the police a total of Rs 10 crores for security arrangements during the seven IPL matches to be played in Lucknow. The per match fee levied by the police is Rs. 1.25 crores, equivalent to a day’s salary for the officers deployed for security purposes.

As per the established protocol, Lucknow Police were expected to receive the payments immediately after each match. However, reports indicate that the police have not yet received any money and the LSG franchise has left the city after the match against KKR. The home department of the Uttar Pradesh government has also reportedly not taken any steps to recover the outstanding dues from LSG. These costs are intended to cover the costs of security staff deployed during the matches. The JCP Lucknow police have assured that the payment will be received soon. However, LSG has not yet commented on the issue.

Meanwhile, after LSG’s embarrassing defeat against SRH on Wednesday (May 9) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, team owner Sanjiv Goenka was in the news. He was seen having a heated conversation with skipper Rahul. Although the words of the chat were inaudible, the broadcaster’s footage went viral on social media, showing an animated discussion between the owner and the captain.
