The ultimate UFC fight that fight fans have been eagerly awaiting is ready to take place. The clash between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler now has a date. Both MMA strikers will battle at the UFC 303 pay-per-view next month. McGregor will return from an ankle injury and he will be determined to knock Chandler’s head. The fight has long been rumored to take place in the octagon, with UFC boss Dana White finally giving it the green signal after the historic UFC 300 showcase. The trash talk from both fighters has already started and Chandler has issued a warning for the Irish striker.

Michael Chandler wants to end Conor McGregor’s MMA career

Michael Chandler is determined to get his hands on Conor McGregor, and now that he finally gets the fight, he’s willing to give whatever it takes to take down his rival. Since their appearance as coaches on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter last year, they have been pitted against each other and then do battle. This summer they will finally settle the score. Speaking to the New York Post Sports, Michael Chandler revealed that he is ready to go as far as wanting to retire the Irish MMA fighter on the day of his return.

“You have to buy this PPV. Because this could be the last time you ever see Conor McGregor fight.

“I truly believe that what I will do to him on June 29 will justify and earn him never to step back into the Octagon again. That said, Conor could arguably make the greatest comeback in combat sports history,” Chandler said.

UFC 303 marks the return of Conor McGregor after a long hiatus. The Irishman is dealing with an ankle injury he suffered against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. Michael Chandler also lost to Poirier in 2022 and has been out of action since.

The UFC has released the official poster for the McGregor-Chandler fight, a five-round clash at UFC 303. Fight fans will be cheering for both strikers as they return to the ring.
