Jackson-Reed baseball wins 31st straight DCIAA title

Thirty consecutive championships instill lofty expectations into the fabric of a program. After three decades of dominance, Jackson-Reed’s baseball team is accustomed to having a target on its back against DC Interscholastic Athletic Association competition.

In Wednesday’s DCIAA championship game, the Tigers left zero doubt as to whether their streak would continue. They laid it on School Without Walls early at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy in Southeast, capturing their 31st straight title with a 13-0 drubbing of the Penguins. The game ended after the top of the fifth inning when the mercy rule took effect.
