Chasing 166 for a win, the two cricketers blasted their target in just 9.4 overs with all 10 wickets intact in the game.

Head reflects batting experience with Abhishek

Travis Head (30-ball 89*) crashed eight boundaries and as many sixes to help SRH smash LSG’s 165 in just 9.4 overs alongside young Abhishek Sharma.

The dynamic Australian opener sparked SRH’s attack by taking on LSG spinners Krishnappa Gowtham and Ravi Bishnoi in the powerplay.

While speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Head talked about his new expertise against spin and how it is also likely to play a ‘big role’ for the Australian cricket team in the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup.

“Something I’ve been working hard on is spin. It will also play a major role in the Caribbean during the World Cup. The last 12 months in Australia they wanted me to play. “I’m not trying to change anything, I’m trying to maximize the power play we’re doing at the moment.”

Travis Head also praised young Indian opener Abhishek Sharma, who hit 75* off just 28 balls against LSG in the match. The Australian batsman further stated that he is enjoying his batting association with the youngster.

“Wonderful to know how hard he works and how deeply he (Abhishek Sharma) thinks about the game. Nice to see him getting some time in the middle today. It’s something I’ve never seen before. Every time he comes through the wicket he mediates it and in that sense we complement each other so well. The collaboration is going well. I love hitting with him.”

Travis Head appreciated the crowd support and described SRH’s win as a positive outcome for their next match against Gujarat Titans in a week’s time.

Travis Head will now face Gujarat Titans along with the rest of his SRH teammates on May 16 in Hyderabad. The match marks their penultimate league match of the 2024 IPL season.
