Men’s Golf Headed to Dalton for NAIA National Championship

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released their field for the 72nd annual Men’s Golf National Championship to be held at The Farm in Dalton, and the Mariners have made the field for the 10th straight year.

“This will be our 10th straight national tournament for our men but would have been eleven if not for covid in 2020,” said head coach Mike Cook. “Out of 14 golf seasons we only missed not playing for a national championship in 2012 when it was our first year in the NAIA we were prohibited from playing and in 2013 we just missed getting selected (ranked 14th) that year, so I’m extremely excited to keep the streak going of making the national tournament,” continued Cook.

The Mariners won back-to-back national championships in 2014 and 2015, and have finished inside the top 10 five times over the past ten years.

“The guys enter each season with their main objective in competing in a national championship and winning it. It’s been a good run thus far, but we are not done yet,” finished Cook.

Fans can find the full list of participants here. The tournament is set for four rounds with 18 holes scheduled for all four days from May 21-24.
