On RTÉ’s swap bill: two nights in Ronaldo’s hotel, €1,500 worth of fruit juice and €7,000 for a Spice Girls concert

Largesse charged €10,000 to fly just one person to the Rugby World Cup

The swap account was used to pay for tickets for acts such as Westlife, the Spice Girls and The Rolling Stones; while tens of thousands of euros were spent sending guests to sporting events such as the 2019 Rugby World Cup and the Champions League final

RTÉ spent more than €1,500 on fruit juice through its swap account – in a bid to convince advertisers to sponsor its programmes.

Luxury hotels and upgraded flights, a €10,000 meal, Spice Girls tickets and corporate hospitality for Harry Styles, the Eagles and Westlife were all part of the food and drink largesse paid for by RTÉ’s swap bill.
