Heartbreaking voice message left by Callum Robinson, who died on a surfing trip in Mexico, for partner Emily Horwath

The girlfriend of one of the Perth brothers who was murdered execution-style during a surfing trip in Mexico has shared a voice message he left her before his death.

The bodies of Callum, 33, and Jake Robinson, 30, and their American friend, Jack Carter Rhoad, 30, have been identified by family after being found in a well.

All three were shot in the head during a botched robbery by thieves who wanted their money for spare parts, authorities believe.

Callum’s friend Emily Horwath has paid tribute to her partner with a saved Instagram highlight, showing a saved voice message he left her.

“Happy Tuesday! Good morning,” Callum said in the message.

“It’s 11.11 and all I think about is you. I just wanted to drop you a line and say hi, sweetie.

‘I hope you’re having a phenomenal start to your day. For some reason I feel a big grin on your face today. I hope you are full of positivity and smiles.

“Cheers, honey. I miss you.”

Emily captioned the story: “I will play this on repeat.”

“That’s exactly who you were. Positivity and a smile.”

Emily previously said Callum was “one of one”.

“My heart is broken into a million pieces,” she said.

“I have no words for it now.

“I will always love you.”

“Beyond sad that the world lost you too soon, Callum,” a friend said in an Instagram story reshared by Emily.

“The world is cruel and unfair, but not you.

“Heaven has the best. We love you.”

Friends remembered the 33-year-old as “one of the most beautiful and loving souls”.

“This world lost one of its kindest, craziest, most genuine souls this week,” said a friend.

“Heaven welcomed the purest, kindest angel,” said another.

A friend of Jake’s paid tribute to the 30-year-old, saying: “It was an honor to know you and work with you.”

Mexican Foreign Minister Alicia Barcena offered condolences to the men’s parents and said her office “expresses its solidarity with the families of the victims in light of this tragic event and deeply regrets the outcome of the events.”

Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers said the identification of the bodies was “nothing short of terrible news.”

“I think the heart of the entire country goes out to all their loved ones. It has been an absolutely terrible, absolutely horrific ordeal and our thoughts are with them all,” he said.

The brothers were on a surfing holiday in northern Mexico when they failed to check in at a pre-arranged accommodation near the city of Ensenada.

The family traveled to Baja California in northern Mexico and identified the bodies as the brothers.

Authorities found the remains Saturday in a remote 50-foot well on a cliff on the Baja Peninsula on Mexico’s west coast.

It is believed thieves killed the three men to steal their truck for tires, then disposed of the bodies about four miles away.

Three suspects are in custody in connection with the case.

One of the three has been charged with enforced disappearance, which amounts to kidnapping.
