Chilliwack’s 2 Handpicked for Steamy CTV Show ‘Farming for Love’

In Show, four farmers try to build a bond with dates who will live and work on their farms

Two Chilliwack area farmers will star in the second season of the CTV show Farming For Love.

The premiere airs on May 29, featuring a ‘fresh crop’ of single farmers exploring the potential of relationships with ‘hand-picked’ dates in an attempt to ‘cultivate’ true love.

Along with host and comedian Sabrina Jalees, the chosen local farmers are Josh Matzek and Kirkland Douglas.

Over the course of ten episodes set in BC’s rural communities, the four farmers invite their chosen dating partners to live and work alongside them on their farms in hopes of building a romantic bond.

“Hearts rise and break in the same breath as, week after week, the stakes rise as they deal with emotional surprises and difficult decisions,” reads the release for the upcoming season premiere.

This is how they describe the farmers of season 2:

• Kirkland, a two-headed, gay ex-rodeo champion turned rancher and horse boarder from Rosedale, B.C.

• Josh, a hockey-playing dairy farmer in a cowboy hat from Chilliwack, BC

• Erin, a second-generation dairy farmer from Creston, BC

• Mischa, a fourth-generation beekeeper and orchardist from Lillooet, BC

“In the season 2 premiere, ‘The Start of My Love Story,’ airing Wednesday, May 29 at 10 p.m., the fresh harvest of farmers will meet the hopefuls vying for a chance at romance and a coveted invitation to to experience love in the land back on the farms.”

The show is based on Fremantle’s long-running and successful international hit format The Farmer Wants A Wife, which has delivered 200 weddings and more than 500 children to date.
